SEO reseller programs are a great idea if you need to grow your revenue. Perhaps not if you sell something completely unrelated to information technology. But if you are anywhere near the technology space, then search engine optimization is likely to be related to what you’re selling anyway. Think this through a bit, if your customers are buying technology services from you and already there is a strong likelihood that they need SEO as well. Should they find their SEO services from someone else, or buy them from you?

If you decided that expanding the scope of your offering will help customer retention as well is attract new customers, then the task is to find the right SEO reseller program for you. Not all SEO reseller plans are made the same. It is important that you do your homework on the SEO company offering the package before you sign up. Or even better, pilot the SEO reseller programs before you actually make a long-term commitment. Most should be free to join, unless there’s some technology setup fee can be easily justified by what you’re getting in return. But you do need to be careful because this is a high power sales market. People use pressure tactics to get you to sign up for their plans all the time.

 

I recommend doing research on the SEO company that is offering you the SEO reseller program. See what kind of customers they’ve had directly. I’m always slightly skeptical organizations that have reseller plans but did not sell directly themselves. The reason is that I feel they lose touch with what the customers are really asking for. There is nothing like being in the hot seat when a customer has needs or is unhappy. You simply have to experience that to understand what it’s like. The other thing you need to look for are the rankings that the company offering the SEO reseller plan have themselves. Do they have good SEO rankings? If not, you should be quite skeptical. After all this is their core business and if they can’t achieve good rankings for themselves, how are they going to achieve good rankings for your customers.

As you reseller programs are a great thing. To offer search engine optimization services you do not have to go out and build the entire delivery capability. You can simply resell someone else’s services and split the profits with them. For these reasons I am a big fan of the SEO reseller plans available today. But as mentioned, not all SEO companies are created equal. You need to find one that fits well with your style, and meets all of your selection criteria. You need reliability and trustworthiness. If you can find all of these things, you will probably increase your revenues through reselling.
